In Episode 1 of Kanariya wa Kago no Naka (also known as Cage), the story follows Sakimi, a young student who finds herself in a dire situation after being betrayed by her boyfriend and left with overwhelming debt. Desperate for help, she turns to a man who runs a "gentleman's service," a dubious operation that offers financial assistance in exchange for her submission. Sakimi is confined to a room 24/7, only allowed to leave to perform specific tasks for her captor.
Inside this oppressive environment, Sakimi encounters Mana Fujidoh, a mysterious young girl who is also trapped in the same facility. The two form a bond as they navigate the hellish world of sexual exploitation and cosplay perversions imposed upon them. Sakimi becomes determined to break free from her confinement and rescue both herself and Mana from their shared nightmare .
